Belle Plaine is located 44 miles south west of Minneapolis along the Highway 169 corridor and the Minnesota River Valley. Total population is around 4,000 people. The City has a total area of 4.3 square miles with only 0.2 square miles of water.
A favorite stop of mine in the fall is Emma Krumbees Orchard & Farm. It's a great place to visit for a wagon ride through the apple orchard and be sure to pick your own apples and pumpkins. www.emmakrumbees.com.
There are two elementary schools and a junior/senior high school in Belle Plaine along with two private schools.
Year to date through August Belle Plaine has had 85 closed sales; this is up 21.4% from last year numbers. The median sale price is down 17.8% to $151,000, the average sale price is down 19.7% to $159,493 and the average days on market is holding steady at 167 days.
Year to date through August the Twin Cities as a whole has had 29,105 closed sales; this is up 13.5% from last year. The median sale price is down 18.5% to $167,000, the average sale price is down 19.2% to $197,930 and average days on market for the Twin Cities has held steady year to year at 143 days.
