Blaine is located 18 miles north of Minneapolis. Total population is around 45,000 people. The City has a total area of 34 square miles with only 0.2 square miles of water.
Blaine is spread out over Anoka and Ramsey Counties and is home to the National Sports Center. The National Sports Center spans some 600 acres and has 50 soccer fields, four Olympic and four standard size hockey rinks in one building and an outdoor velodrome.
There are ten public schools and seven private schools in the Blaine community. Blaine is also home to the private career college Globe University Minnesota School of Business.

Year to date through August the Twin Cities as a whole has had 29,105 closed sales; this is up 13.5% from last year. The median sale price is down 18.5% to $167,000, the average sale price is down 19.2% to $197,930 and average days on market for the Twin Cities has held steady year to year at 143 days.
