According to the City of Minneapolis, rental license revocations have increased by over 500% since 2005.  The City has made more than 30 changes in rental licensing codes since 2005 and continues to make numerous changes in rental license standards.

This week the City has taken another step and will publish any violators of one or more rental license standards on a Rental License Revocation List.   Any landlord that has two or more licenses revoked will be banned from holding a Minneapolis Rental License for 5 years.

The city will be moving towards more rental inspections as well. Those that play by the rules could go up to five years with no inspections and those that have violations could face an annual inspection for licensing.
